Fall 2017: Intro to Encaustic Workshops Now Enrolling at Valley Art Center
Did you miss out on my sold out summer Intro to Encaustic workshops at Valley Art Center? No worries because I have 3 more workshops scheduled for Fall 2017. These workshops are for participants who are new to the encaustic medium.
We will cover the history of encaustics, materials, basic studio setup, working methods, and safe practices. You will be using a variety of R & F encaustic paints, R & F pigment sticks and encaustic medium as you explore this fascinating and versatile process. We will cover paint application and manipulation as well as the exciting photocopy transfer process. You will leave with at least 2 experimental artworks plus handouts that offer a wealth of resources to explore on your own.
Workshops are limited to six participants per session so don't wait too long to sign up. The last two summer sessions sold out quickly. Workshops will be held three different Saturdays from 1-3pm this fall: September 16, October 21 and November 18. Tuition is $50.00 plus a $5.00 materials fee collected the day of the workshop.
